inspredwood:

So David Faustino (Mako’s VA) has tweeted again aboot Korra. This time reinforcing his prospective release quarter of the summer. I think this is some of the most tangible information we’ve gotten from an official source.
I think I need to sit down and drink some tea.

“@funatfundotfun: @DavidFaustino Hey, is legend of Korra really coming out in summer? :D” indeed. Don’t hav exact dates yet.. :))
Edit: I felt it necessary to screen cap the past few tweets of his because I hate having 1h being relative so now you know it was at the most 1h after 15 of Feb.
It’s the top and bottom quotes where he discusses Korra.

From the Nickelodeon Executive Q&A on Reddit:

Can be found here!

QHas Nick ever considered using viral marketing techniques? I’m asking because many people now suspect that Nickelodeon, or an employee thereof, is responsible for the recent flood of Korra-related leaked clips and screenshots. If not, how do you usually handle leakers?
A
I don’t know if the company has any plans in place or in the future but I do know that we are involved in social media and are always going to have to adjust to how people hear about or receive our stuff.

With that said, no the leaks were not intended. People who steal stuff and go against the wishes of the creators by posting stuff are scum. The world does not belong to you (one) just because you think it does and it hurts people even if you don’t think it does. How we track people and deal with them I probably shouldn’t say…other than “hopefully harshly”.

Q
How do you guys feel about the Legend of Korra leaks around those parts?
AI answered this elsewhere. I’m not a fan. I mean I know it has been forever since the last series and people are excited but it is still wrong. It screws a lot of people out of their hard work and is damaging in many ways.

I was very happy with all of the positive feedback it got, if anything good came out of it. There was very little negative feedback which is good…but I didn’t expect there would be as it is awesome.

(Possible) good news about the title of Korra

From user Eudaemon on ASN:

Avatar: Legend of Korra is most likely the title of the series, as it was renewed for consideration for usage on October 10, 2011.
The trademark The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra was approved August 30, 2011 and Viacom has until January 30, 2012 (6 months after approval) to renew consideration for usage or the trademark is abandoned. Since no further action has been taken on the trademark “The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra”, its case will be abandoned in 24 days. Avatar: Legend of Korra now has until April 4, 2012 (due to the extension Viacom filed) to be registered for use, it is a logical conclusion that Avatar: Legend of Korra is in fact, the title of the series.

Also, it is why there is nothing on Nick about the show. They aren’t forgetting about it or “trolling” fans; they merely can’t show any material on the network without a trademark registered (SDCC is different since it was not on the air and it was a work-in-progress at the time).

Here are some links for proof:

I saw this and got really excited, I just wanted to share! =) This and the supposed “news” coming out tomorrow has gotten me all hyped up!

New Info from Korra Title Sequence

  • The United Republic is a nation formed out of all previous Fire Nation colonies by Avatar Aang and Firelord Zuko. Republic City is the capitol.
  • The 4 benders in the intro are past Avatars: Kyoshi, Roku, Aang and finally Korra.
  • After the end of the opening sequence, we see the beginning of the first episode of Korra, entitles “Welcome to Republic City.” It seems to show people approaching a home on a snowy night. This could show Korra’s Avatar confirmation, or may feature her being told of her identity.

Here is a transcript of the speech:

“When I was a boy, my father, Avatar Aang, told me the story of how he and his friends heroically ended the Hundred Year War. Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko transformed the Fire Nation colonies into the United Republic of Nations, a society where Benders and non-Benders from all over the world could live and thrive together in peace and harmony. They named the capitol of this great land Republic City. Avatar Aang accomplished many remarkable things in his life, but sadly his time in this world came to an end. And, like the cycle of the seasons, the cycle of the Avatar began anew.”

Someone supposedly got an advanced copy of The Promise Part 1, and they posted this page of the book. The person said the book was very good.I believe the person said that Katara was fighting someone and that is why Zuko is stopping her.

FOR MOAR SEE HERE.
The ending of a great story is always bittersweet, satisfying our craving for resolution to the conflicts that have tantalized us for so long, while simultaneously leaving us behind with a desire that may never be fulfilled—the wish for more time to explore the places that have become familiar to us, more time to spend with the characters we have come to adore. As fans, it is a feeling that we know well at Dark Horse, one that inspires every book we publish continuing a story once concluded elsewhere.
That is why the Avatar: The Last Airbender comics started from the same place the TV show did: creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. To us, they revealed untold chapters in the story of Team Avatar, chapters to be told in the comics.
Just as on the TV show Michael and Bryan teamed with the finest talents in animation to bring their vision to the screen, with the comics they have teamed with the Japanese art-duo Gurihiru and award-winning author Gene Luen Yang to continue their vision on the page.
This January, Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Promise Part 1 begins a trilogy of original graphic novels that reveal what happens next to the heroes and villains from the TV show after the final episode. Taking place one year after the events of the last season, these graphic novels begin a new adventure for Aang and his friends that will change their lives and change their world.
With Gurihiru, Gene Luen Yang, best known for his graphic novel American Born Chinese, weaves a tale of a world learning the ways of peace after a century of war. It is a difficult lesson, one that will threaten to tear the friendship of Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko apart, and plunge the world back into war.
Like all fans, Dark Horse wants to return to our favorite places, see our old friends, only if they are the real deal, and not some shadowy facsimile.  That is why we are so glad, and so proud, to present to you The Promise Part 1—this is it, the genuine article. Team Avatar is back, and we can’t wait to show you what they’ve been up to.

Fangirling is serious business. It takes discipline, dedication, many GBs on your hard disk and a whole lot of free time. And of course a certain level of emotional instability and never ending sexual frustration that only tumblr can comprehend. But life would be so pointless and empty without it.
